Guidelines for Disbursement of Funds

Conditions

  1. All applicants must be a regular member in good standing with ACCES. This means;
    1. They must a be a member within Atlantic Canada
    2. They must presently be a paid member.
    3. They must have held a valid membership in the previous calendar year.
  2. It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit sufficient information for the committee to make a determination regarding the activity applied for.

Eligible Expenses

  1. Registration
  2. Travel
    1.  Actual fare (bus, train, air etc.)
    2. Accommodations
    3. Misc. (tolls, parking etc.)
    4. Meal allowance (Meals are not covered if supplied in the registration cost.) 
        Amount
      Breakfast $7.50
      Lunch $10.50
      Supper $19.50

ACCES recommends and encourages shared travel when and where possible.

Salary replacement is not an eligible expense.

Deadlines

  1. The deadline for receipt of applications is dependant of the particular conference and will be listed in the lead Article.
  2. Notification of receipt of application will be forwarded to the applicant within two weeks of receipt.
  3. If within two weeks confirmation has not been received, please contact ACCES

The Process

  1. Please review the Guidelines for Disbursement of Funds (this article).
  2. Please review the ACCES Expense Claim Form and the Conditions listed in it.
  3. Applications must be made online through the ACCES website.
  4. Deadline for application will be posted on the website for each eligible event.
  5. Notification of receipt of application will be forwarded to the applicant within two weeks of receipt.
  6. Applicant will be notified of available funding within 30 days of event.
  7. An official ACCES Expense Claim Form must be submitted within two weeks of the completion of event.
  8. Cheques will be issued to applicants within two weeks of receiving completed expense form.

Priorities

The committee will recommend funding based on the following priorities:

  1. Applicants who previously have not received assistance.
  2. Applicants who previously have not received significant assistance.
  3. Consideration of financial assistance from other sources.
  4. Applicants who will be presenting at the event.
