John started his career in the Clinical Engineering field in 1998 with Nova Scotia Association of Health Organizations (NSAHO) – now known as Health Association Nova Scotia.  Graduated from CBU (formally UCCB)in 1995  with a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology- Instrumentation and Controls, he has completed his provincial Technologist certification with TechNova as a CET in 2003 as well as Certification as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET) in 2003.   He is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management through Memorial University in N.L. John has a strong belief in continuing education and promoting the value of certification of the field, both as individuals and organizations.   John has worked on a committee with CMBES to update the Clinical Engineering Standard of Practice for Canada which is the foundation of the Peer Review process completed by CMBES.   John joined the ACCES board in 2013 and served as president for 3 years until May 2016, and now serves on the board as a Director-at-Large.
