Miscellaneous Information:

After looking through a large stack of Certificates, Paul determined that he graduated from Nova Scotia Institute of technology in 1985. He also determined he has received a great deal of training since that time. After graduating he went to work for NSAHO initially working out of the New Glasgow office. From this location, he was able to visit every small community in Northern Nova Scotia. After that, he worked out of the Halifax Office from where he was able to work in even more hospitals in Nova Scotia, a total of 30 if memory serves correctly. Computers were just starting to appear in the Medical Field when he started his career, and he has watched them become a part of every system purchased today. In the past 5 years, he has seen more and more systems become networked as hospitals attempt to wean themselves of paper. In 2001 Paul joined Capital Health in Halifax Nova Scotia where he has the opportunity to become involved in everything computer related in the Biomed field. In October 2012 Paul joined HIT-NS the provincial IT group for hospitals in Nova Scotia. Where he will be supporting a provincial Cardiology Information system. The Biomedical Field has always been a great career for a life long learner as Paul's stack of certificates would show. With the infiltration of computer technology in the medical field, Paul has found many opportunities to learn about this technology. This knowledge of computers has lead him to take on the role of webmaster for ACCES. He enjoys time spent with his family and not so young sons. He is also involved with his local United Church where he provides all manner of technical support.
