ACCES Professional Affairs CCNB initiative

ACCES is continuing to lead the initiative to increase the capacity for Biomedical Engineering Technology programs in Atlantic Canada. At this juncture the discussions have passed over to the directors and managers of the clinical engineering services working in Nova Scotia. We are looking forward to hearing more regarding their discussions with CCNB.

October CBET and CSA Standards Course – Time Sensitive Registration!

Interested in CBET Certification?

CBET certificationis becoming an important next step for many working in biomedical and clinical engineering. Many have indicated an interest in further opportunities for certification and BMET studies. As a result ACCES is presenting and sponsoring a one day training session to provide participants with a refresher on the five modules necessary to pass the Canadian CBET certification exam. The session, delivered by Rick Tidman, Biomedical Engineering Technology instructor from Durham College in Ontario, will occur in Halifax (October 27) and St John’s (October 28). Seating would be limited. The course willbe free to ACCES members and $50 dollars for non-members. CBET study guides will be provided to participants.

If you would like further information on CBET certification in Canada please visit http://bmetcertcanada.ncf.ca/

How About a day with CSA on Z32.09 Electrical Safety and Essential Electrical Systems in Health Care Facilities?

We have a CSA standards (Z32.09) session planned coincide with the CBET training. Michel Brossoit, of the Canadian Standards Association, will be presenting z32.09Electrical Safety and Essential Electrical Systems in Health Care Facilities. Four new Webinar presentations this fall

Our mission at the Atlantic Canada Clinical Engineering Society (ACCES) is to support clinical engineering professionals working in the Atlantic Provinces and developing educational opportunities in central to that mission.  As you know, continuous education and professional development is key to our profession and helps us foster the adoption of new and innovated technologies in healthcare.

The Atlantic Canada Clinical Engineering Society (ACCES) is pleased to offer 4 new Webinar presentations this fall.  We at ACCES realize that in these times we all have to find ways to be frugal and a webinar is a very low cost method of connecting people and presenting content.  The webinar is an internet based technology that allows both the presenter and the audience to be any anywhere that has access to PC and internet.  Therefore, no travel is required, no hotels and it also gives the opportunity for a greater audience to participate.

Each presentation is approximately one hour.
