President's Message

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I am able to announce we will be gathering again in person for the 2025 joint CMBEC 47 / ACCES 26 conference in Fredericton, NB from May 27 - 29. Through a LOT of hard work in a short period of time, this conference was organized and now has a SOLD-OUT vendor hall. With packed conference sessions, this is shaping up to be one of the best yet. Natalie, the local NB conference team, the CMBES team, as well as ACCES stakeholders from across Atlantic Canada have been involved along the way. Things are coming back to normal after the pandemic disrupted many organizations and their ability to meet in person, and we will strive to do the same again in 2026 with the ACCES Educational Seminars and Trade Expo.

Hopefully we will see many of you in Fredericton this May for the conference. Our AGM will be held during the conference and will include the election of officers. With some vital positions up for renewal, we need strong leaders from Atlantic Canada to fill these positions to keep this society going strong. I personally have been a part of the executive since 2012, and I can’t express how much I have enjoyed being part of ACCES, the networking opportunities it has created, and it has allowed me to grow professionally. I encourage all of you to consider putting your name forward for a board position.

Our success depends on your support. Please register as a member of ACCES. The nominal registration fee helps keep the organization going and the more members we have, the greater success we will achieve. Plus, you will receive a gift for registering.

Finally, I would like to thank all the members of the ACCES executive. A successful organization is only as strong as those working within the organization. I can honestly say we have a great team in place, and things are going well with great plans for the near future. As the saying goes, many hands make light work, and this group certainly has been doing the work needed to keep our organization going strong.

Sincerely,

Peter Butt
President, Atlantic Canada Clinical Engineering Society
