Gary hails from Halifax, Nova Scotia and has been employed in the Medical Service industry since 1979, working initially with GE Medical Systems as a Field Service Technologist in the Diagnostic Imaging field and traveled Atlantic Canada for 24 years. He has been employed as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist at the IWK Health Centre since 2005 and is currently in a Team Leader position in the Biomedical Engineering Department. Education wise, Gary studied Electronics Engineering Technology at NSCC, Halifax Campus, graduating in June of 1976 with his Engineering Diploma. Looking to further his educational studies he entered the BTech Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland, acquiring his BTech Degree in May 2004. He has also been a CET member of TechNova for many years and completed his CBET(c) Certification in May 2012. Looking to get more involved in the Biomedical Community Gary became a member of ACCES in 2010. He was elected to the ACCES Board of Directors in June 2013, starting as a Member-at-Large. He is currently the ACCES Director of Membership, a role he was appointed to in the fall of 2014. Gary is married, has four children and in his spare time between family and work he participates in recreational activities - Baseball, Slo-Pitch, Golf and Squash to name a few. He enjoys interfacing with people during work and personal activities and strives to make this world a happier place for all of us to enjoy.
