Hi Folks
It has been a very busy 3 weeks. The nomination process for executive slots in the new society netted a director nominee per position so that all openings were filled by acclamation.

ACCES
Many thanks to Christina McLauglin for her entry in our name-the-organization contest. The name won in voting by a significant margin. Thank-you to the more than 60 people who took the time to cast a ballet. Christina won an Olympus Camera (accepted by Joel Smith on her behalf - photo below). The abbreviation ACCES is easy to remember and has already been incorporated into our new websites address http://www.ACCESociety.org/ which is under construction.
Steven has the site up on line now and will be working to add information and the many photos that were taken at the Newfoundland conference.
Anne Marie Woodworth presenting the Name-the-organization prize to Joel Smith who was accepting on behalf of Christina McLauglin. Thank-you Olympus for your support !!!
Membership
Attached is your ACCES membership application. Also attached is the ACCES brochure for your review. Membership is a great deal – 2 years for the price of one and we bill you later. This offer expires at the end of May!
Corporate Sponsors
There was a great deal of interest expressed at the conference by vendors who would like to sponsor and/or join the Society. The executive will be reviewing options surrounding this. Many thanks to Anritsu, RASMAS, Olympus and Conmed who have sponsored special events to date.
Newfoundland Conference Wow – what a great job Ron Johnson, Steven Lockyer, Keith Keough and the rest of the CE team at Eastern Health did in putting this together.
The event was a great success and ground breaking on the CE/IT convergence front. It was all very professionally done and the evening entertainment was excellent. I think we left a bit of our hearts in Newfoundland (and have just recently recovered our stomachs from George Street). I know all those who attended look forward to returning to Newfoundland in the years to come!

Halifax Conference Preparation is already underway for the 2009 conference which will be in Halifax. Nova Scotia’s Clinical Engineering community is unanimously behind the 2009 conference. The third meeting of the organization team is coming up on the 20th of this month. The team will be working to build on the success of the Moncton (Thanks Paul!) and the Newfoundland Conference.
Executive Activity The executive of ACCES will be meeting officially as a group for the first time in 2 weeks. On the agenda is our immediate to-do list which includes getting our house in order from a business perspective and working through the incorporation process which is already underway. We hope to have more of these news updates to you shortly. The website will be a valuable tool for keeping up with the societies activities.
Sincerely,
ACCES Executive
