During CE Week, our department organized a week-long celebration dedicated to Clinical Engineering (CE). From May 14th to May 20th, we came together to foster teamwork, ignite creativity, and honor our collective passion for the field. Let’s explore the highlights of this unforgettable event!

It’s that time of year again. During the week of May 15th-21st, 2022, Biomedical/Clinical Engineering departments coast-to-coast will climb out from the basements of their respected hospitals to be honoured and celebrated for the annual National Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Appreciation week. ACCES will once again be participating in the festivities with our annual photo contest.

Biomedical and Clinical Engineering departments across Canada are celebrating the National Biomedical/Clinical Engineering Appreciation Week on May 16 - 22, 2021. As part of the celebrations, ACCES is once again launching a photo contest to all its registered members in Atlantic Canada.

We were quite surprised with the creativity, smiles, and cakes in this year’s submissions. In the end, the judges were finally able to agree on three winning submissions...

Every year in May, Biomedical and Clinical Engineering Week is celebrated in healthcare institutions across Canada, as a recognition of the hard work and valuable contributions made by biomedical/clinical engineers, technologists and technicians.

This year was no different, and many Clinical Engineering departments across Atlantic Canada engaged in celebrations and activities, with our classic celebratory style: lots of cake!

ACCES wanted to take the time this year to recognize Western Region HANS, whose Clinical Engineering staff came together in celebrations for the young, the not so young, and the very young!

Biomedical and Clinical Engineering departments across Atlantic Canada celebrated the Biomedical and Clinical Engineering Week last year from May 18-24, 2014. As part of the celebrations, ACCES launched a photo-contest to all its registered members.

The criteria were simple: snap a picture of Biomedical and Clinical Engineering week activities or celebrations – with the ACCES logo somewhere in the photo. The submissions were numerous, creative and all-around fun! Though it was a challenging task, the judges were finally able to agree on the four winning submissions for this year:

Lets Celebrate

May 19-25

ACCES would like to salute the Biomedical and Clinical Engineering professionals of Atlantic Canada for their dedication and commitment to those we serve. As Healthcare Technology Professionals we provide valuable services to support the clinical demands of our Healthcare environments. To mark this important week ACCES has been distributing new standup banners to many biomedical departments in Atlantic Canada. The banners are 33 X 78 inches and come with sturdy aluminum stands. They make a great tool to display. It also describes our profession and the services we provide to our healthcare organizations.

The ACCES executive has been working with members to provide support for Clinical Engineering Week activities. Whether your planning cake in the cafeteria at breaks, contests, or lobby displays we hope the tools described in this article are helpful!

We had several teams submit more than one picture, same poster some of the same people at different locations. While we applaud the effort and appreciate the additional pictures the judges decided in all fairness these should be considered one entry. In this way every team that participated got a prize, what could be more fair then that!

Each department will receive a $200 dollar cheque From ACCES In January of 2013 to be used for next year’s Clinical Engineering Week activities. Many thanks to those that participated. It is nice to see CE professionals proudly displaying their many contributions to healthcare and their achievements!
